Width setting that allows wrapping[edit]

User:Verdy p. For some reason I have this on my watchlist, and it seems like you know what you are doing. I don't. I only understand some very basic CSS and HTML.

Could you make the width be flexible? So that it can wrap around stuff that is placed on the right side. Such as:

  • {{Wikidata Infobox}}

Some other templates have the capability to wrap. Such as:

I don't understand what you mean by "wrapping" (even when I look at "{{Cat see also}}" or "{{Wikidata Infobox}}", there's noithing that I can associate with "wrapping"; both are jsut boxes containing what is displayed inside, the second one being just a floating box with a fixed width; both have borders, and minimal margins only on sides it's appropriate)
Can you be clearer about what you look for ? verdy_p (talk) 02:20, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
May I guess you're talking about the optional "banner" parameter that allows the content to be generated, but not its outer box. I've not seen concrete examples where this is useful, not even with {{Wikidata Infobox}} or {{Cat see also}}. verdy_p (talk) 02:35, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here is an example:
Category:Fentanyl
Template:MetaCat will not do what Template:Cat see also is doing in that category.
Try it and see. Use preview to see.
Here is another example of Template:Cat see also allowing the table of contents to wrap around it:
Commons:Chart and graph resources
Click on the show-hide link for the table of contents to see how the banner width changes to adapt to what is on the right side of the page.
