These images do not really fit in category:Manually coded SVG. It would be better to put these in a new, separate category, I think. /Pieter Kuiper 15:54, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Additional parameters for category diffusion[edit]

The template was intentionally used to tag SVG graphics initionally created with Inkscape and later edited manually, in general by drawing them new from scratch, replacing all or most of the Inkscape coding.

After some years thought some users to abuse it for other taggings, mainly for code which is still Inkscape-generated with a few alternations. Therefore the graphic of the tag was several times altered for that reason.

Now (September 2012) the category Created with Inkscape-hand became somehow a big garbage bin, comprising more than 2800 files — which makes diffusion necessary.

To achieve this diffusion and to cease the upcoming re-upload war, two new graphics are generated for tagging files; an additional parameter is needed to select the image and the category.

by adding additional trailing characters using the parameter subcateg=.
  • It is also possible to have the template {{HandSVG}} performed specifying the 3rd parameter for that template by the parameter tagging= e.g. tag=v.

For any of the parameters a shortcut of its first three characters can be used;
for addition, replaced (and any future value) a shortcut of its first character is sufficient,

e.g. cat=r is equivalent to category=replaced.

I hope it may help to diffuse easily, and to tag with the correct image. sarang사랑 20:35, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
