Inline[edit]

User:Jonesey95, inline doesn't work any longer as it did before. Example:

 Info: Some text.

--Achim55 (talk) 08:49, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The colon immediately after the template is the problem in that case; it is interpreted as wikitext indenting code. Example:
 Info Some text.
 Info – Some text.
The root problem is that editors are putting block content inside the |1= (unnamed) parameter, which is probably a misuse of this template. Jonesey95 (talk) 16:01, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jonesey95: two more examples:

 Info here comes a m:link.

Info and here is a line of text containing: a colon somewhere inside.

That's crap. Please have another try. If the line starts with a colon like

Info here comes a m:link. or
Info: here it starts with a colon
Info or has it somewhere: inside

surprise... --Achim55 (talk) 14:35, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted to old version, which will result in Linter errors and bad formatting returning to pages. The root problem of people putting block content into |1= needs to be fixed on an individual use basis, it appears. People are misusing this polling template; it needs to be split to another template or modified to meet the needs of the people who want to use it for something else. I don't think the template code can detect such use. Jonesey95 (talk) 17:46, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
