Navigation sometimes visible, sometines not

Example 1: With or without parameter "qty"

Flags by quantity: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 15 - 16 - 25 - 27 - 28 - many

{{Groups|flags}} not:

Example 2: flags vs. bricks as parameter "entities"

{{Groups|flags|8}}, {{Groups|horses|7}}, {{Groups|doors|6}} renders with navigation:

Hello again:) Question: Is the Parameter entities really required? Maybe not, when there are possible syntax like {{Groups||2|4}}. Or did I understand sthg wrong? Regards --W like wiki ^{good to know} 23:23, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

Parent category

Why {{Groups|Flags}} adds the SAME category Flags:

Categories: Flags | Groups of symbols

And {{Groups|Plants}} adds NOT Plants but Plants by setting:

Categories: Plants by setting | Groups of organisms

And more confusing: {{Groups|Plants|5}} adds Plants by quantity:

Plants by quantity: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 - 16 - 21 - 29 - many Categories: Plants by quantity | 5 organisms

And how can we change the parent category? (e.g. {{groups|male organisms}} in Category:Groups of male organisms generates Groups of organisms as parent cat. How can we change it to Groups of organisms by gender? Will there be a new parameter for it or a how-to-explanation on the doc-page? Test mode?

The demonstrations in the template documentation are currently placing {{Groups}} into a bunch of inappropriate categories, including Category:Flags, Category:7 people, Category:Groups of groups by size, etc. Can you please update the template such that its use in the documentation doesn't categorize the template itself? Hi @Omphalographer: It was me who added the examples to make the complex template more understandable for users. Your point I think could be managed with <includeonly></includeonly> or <noinclude></noinclude>, <onlyinclude></onlyinclude> but I can't use them propperly, sorry!
