Inline?[edit]

I would like to propose to make this an inline template, as in my opinion this kind of source (unlike external project source templates) does not have to be easily recognisable and therefore does not need its own icon. Thoughts?    FDMS  4    01:16, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm all for this idea. Go for it! Josve05a (talk) 06:03, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. Green Giant (talk) 18:18, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Default[edit]

Which message is better as standard/deafult?

  • Email from the author/copyright holder to the Wikimedia Commons uploader
  • Sent from the author/copyright holder to the Wikimedia Commons uploader
  • Sent from the author/copyright holder (could indicate it was sent to somebody else than the uploader, you never know)
  • The uploader on Wikimedia Commons recived this from the author/copyright holder.
  • or something else

Good question. Originally I thought the word email should be used but it was pointed out to me that the author could just as easily hand a disk to the uploader. So I'm going to say we should use no. 4 because it seems to be the most generic. Green Giant (talk) 09:20, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I would prefer the status quo, because it's a non-sentence and a noun (matter of taste). The only version I would oppose is #3, because it might make offwiki usages look like they were specifically encouraged by the copyright holder.    FDMS  4    17:05, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that #4 is the best, and since it has been 7+ days I'm going to boldly change it. Josve05a (talk) 01:13, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
