Sometimes a user will create new accounts to sockpuppet and circumvent the rules of Wikipedia. If they are caught, they are typically blocked for this behavior. However, many users wish to turn a new leaf after a certain amount of time and start following the rules. When or if they are unblocked, they may choose to post this user box on their pages to increase their level of commitment to the community. If they are sent to edit another Wiki-project to prove their prospects as a trusted community member, they may choose to likewise post this userbox on their pages. The "verify" link brings users to the public log search, a place where editors can look up users and review their block logs and contributions. This way committed editors can welcome greater scrutiny over their edits to ensure high-quality contributions to the project.
