This is an image from the Yale University Art Gallery collections. According to the Yale University Art Gallery site, the depicted 2-dimensional work is believed to be the public domain, and the gallery's online photographs of such works are considered "open access materials", which "anyone may use … without further application, authorization, or fees due to the Gallery or to Yale." They specify "Photo credit: Yale University Art Gallery"; presumably this credit cannot be mandatory for a faithful reproduction of a two-dimensional work in the public domain, but would be courtesy. |
- Typically works using this licensing template should use {{Yale University Art Gallery online}} and should be placed in Category:Collections of the Yale University Art Gallery or one of its subcategories.
- It is generally good practice to add an additional licensing template such as {{PD-US-expired}} or {{PD-old-100}} explaining why the underlying work is in the public domain.
- For 3-dimensional works, including framed pictures, use {{Attribution-Yale-University-Art-Gallery}} instead of this template.
