This template is used in the "description" parameter of the {{Information}} template (or just on a files description page) to render the words "Original caption : " in the language specified in the user's preferences, and echo parameters 1 & 2.

Usage

{{Original caption |1= |2= |inaccurate= |lang= }}

Syntax

  • {{Original caption|caption}} - basic form, uses caption as the caption text in italics
  • {{Original caption|caption|source}} - uses caption as the caption text in italics and displays source after an Em dash ("—")

creates this:
