Usage

A formatting template for listing hybrid formulas in horticulture.

Note: if you want to edit this template, first try your modifications on {{Cultivar/sandbox}}.You can then test your edits in {{Cultivar/testcases}}.
When the new version is ready, you can move it to the main template.

Syntax

Parameters

• speciesOrGenusCategoryName

The name of the category corresponding to the species or genus. Avoid italic and Link syntax. An automatic link will be provided to the existing category or article.

Sample2: Iris (Iridaceae) which will be displayed Iris

• cultivarName

The cultivar name (will be displayed between quotes). Avoid italic, Link syntax and quotes

• origin; breeder, introducer

• country

The country were the cultivar has been created.

• year (optional)

The year of creation.

• altnames=<list of alternative names> (optional)

A list of Alternative names

• sportof=<description of a sport> (optional)

Description of the sport

• selectionof=<description of a selection> (optional)

Description of the selection

• tradenames=<original trade name(s)>

List of the original trade name(s) in the original country. For traductions, use {{VN}}

• defsort=<sortkey>

By default the DEFAULTSORT is done with cultivarName. This parameters allows to override the automatic sortkey.

• parent1 (optional)(only if no |sport=)
• parent2 (optional)(only if no |sport=)

The parent species name of the hybridation.

Avoid italic, an automatic link will be provided to the existing category or article.

Put ? for the parent2, if you know parent1 but not parent2.

You can also provide a complex link or a small phrase
