Two stations remain[edit]

A friend left this in my Wikipedia talk page:

You got images for every station on the Port Washington Branch except Manhasset and Plandome(I still want to take those next summer). You even got Murray Hill Station, and the only thing disappointing about that one is that it's not the previous station house that was built over the tracks like a bridge. FYI, you do realize I've got a gallery on the commons that are good for those, don't you?

Yep. Just haven't got up much interest in Commons galleries as yet. I'm glad you felt free to use them in this way. Well, except the Douglaston pic was from the overpass, not of. Alas, I only took up photography a year ago, thus have nothing older than that. I'm thinking of getting a scanner this winter, though, and going through my father's slides from the 1960s and 70s.

A month ago I visited a friend in New Hyde Park, and instead of going straight there, took the 7 to Flushing and pedalled the North Shore to snap the stations and shoreline places before climbing to get Long Island Jewish Hospital and other inland sights. As for the two remaining stations, one of my biker gangs regularly pedals through Manhasset Valley, which makes me think of taking the train to Port Washington, unfolding the bike, taking pictures on Plandom Road etc, and snapping the viaduct while waiting to ambush my friends. Probably such a project will wait until springtime; days are getting too short now for comfort. Took a bunch of pictures two weeks ago in Kearny; haven't reviewed them yet for upload. Also spent this Saturday afternoon pedalling around various parts of Brooklyn for the ironically named "Wikis Take Manhattan" event; got many pix but no railroad ones. Y'll have fun, now, y'hear?
