Stamps of Natal, a British colony since the 1840s. It issued stamps in the 1857-1909 period, before its merge in the Union of South Africa.

1857 - 1861[edit]

Embossed on coloured paper. Very rare.

1859 - 1864 Chalon Head[edit]

Those stamps were also used for fiscal purposes and were then pen-marked.

1869-1877 overprint POSTAGE[edit]

Note the variety. Why this overprint? To exclude a fiscal use?
