Civil war[edit]

Postal map of Colombia 1890

During 1899-1903 Colombia was in a civil war, the so-called 'War of 1000 Days'. It caused the creation of provisional issues in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Medellín and Tumaco. Normal national stamps reappeared 1904.

Re-lithographed 5c of the second issue, crude sewing machine perforation. The third issue was a 1c Bolivar stamp (Sc. 55) overprinted with 7 wavy lines.

1900 Fifth Cartagena issue[edit]

Fifth and final issue of a single 5c stamp. Purple overprint with 7 parallel wavy lines.
