English: Routemaster bus RML880 (reg. WLT 880) was delivered to London Transport in July 1961. It was the first of the trial batch of RML class Routemaster buses built. The first four trial buses initially wore the designation ER (standing for extended Routemaster), but this was changed within months. It saw continual use in London into the privatisation era, which saw it allocated to the London United Busways division of London Buses in 1988. That division's chosen identity had its origins in London United Tramways, and so in 1989, RML880 was chosen to receive a special London United Tramways style heritage livery, at the same time being renumbered into its original fleetnumber, ER880, in gold. As with all RML buses, in the early 1990s it was re-engined (Cummins) and refurbished. It retained this special livery into full privatisation, being re-applied several times, appearing at several rallies and special events, as well as seeing service on route 9 and 94. By September 2004, London United no longer had any Routemaster operated routes - ER880 was retained for the company's special purposes fleet. In 2005 it was one of several buses to gain the Routemaster 50th anniversary logo. In 2006, as a result of the adoption of a single Transdev London identity, in favour of London United/London Sovereign, it finally lost its LUT livery, in favour of original London Transport livery.
