English: Routemaster bus RM29 (reg. OYM 453A, ex-VLT 29) was delivered to London Transport in July 1959, registered as VLT 29. It saw use in London until May 1963, the time of its first overhaul at Aldenham Works. Instead of returning to service after overhaul however, it spent the next 15 years as the Aldenham Works float vehicle, acting as a temporary replacement vehicle at various garages, to cover for buses going to overhaul themselves. In 1978 it returned to normal service. At some point in 1988 it was re-registered as OYM 453A. It then served in London into the privatisation era, passing in 1994 into the fleet of MTL London (ex-London Northern). By 1998 it had been sold to a dealer, and by 1999 it was owned by a Cyber Cafe based in Camden Lock. In February 2002, as part of Transport for London's RM class Routemaster buy back policy, it was bought by London Transport's successor London Buses Services Ltd, a Tfl subsidiary, to be refurbishment/renovated, for further use in London. After completion, fitted with a new Cummins engine, it was allocated to Arriva London's Battersea garage (BA), going into service on route 19. As route 19 lost its Routemasters, RM29 was transferred to Arriva's route 159, and became one of the few Routemasters to be in operation on the last day of the last non-heritage Routemaster route in London, being withdrawn on 9 December 2005, and then placed into storage. In April 2006 it was bought by Timebus Travel, who refurbished it and fitted a PA system, for use on private hires and tours. Timebus factsheet
