Easier Flickr uploads with F2ComButton

That is nice, but I do not understand why this is not integrated in the upload form for Flickr images. Just let contributors enter the url for the Flickr image. An upload-bot could then do all the rest, and also verify that the license was good enough. Same for images from other wikipedias, from the government, etcetera. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 20:35, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

See where it says: "Commons provides an experimental service, which enables users to easily transfer images from Flickr as an alternative to this page."

Mention that User:Flickr upload bot is currently experiencing problems.

Alternate methods

If the image is OK, you can use Flinfo tool to extract the summary information and paste it into the simple upload form. Flickr upload bot uploads images directly from flickr from this page. Uploaders need to prepare the file description page before. Magnus Manske's bot uploads and checks the license from this upload page. It can also be used from search or as a button on Flickr. File description pages should be edited for clarity after upload.

Wikimedia Commons Policy: Flickr upload bots, and how to report said misuse

I have a question about the Commons:Project scope#Must be realistically useful for an educational purpose policy of Wikimedia Commons. My question is in regard to a specific user whom I've noticed has used a Flickr upload bot to upload a lot of images that have been challenged as being uploaded without purpose.

My specific question is this: What is the policy regarding users who appear to use a bot to upload many images to Wikimedia Commons that doesn't serve a scientific/social purpose, and does so repetitively? At what point are the uploads considered disruptive/policy disregarding, and how does one report it?

I wasn't even aware this issue existed, until I recently came across an image in a random Google search that led me back to Wikimedia Commons. I'm noticing Wikimedia Commons is a little different from Wikipedia, so I'm not sure what the process is for asking an Admin to review said user's Talk Page (where many Deletion Nominations have been previously announced).

I'm assuming the first step is to notify the specific user on their Talk Page about all the questionable image uploads using Flickr upload bot, and ask said user to state each images' intended purpose when uploading, but I don't know what the proper Template/procedure is, and how to ask an Admin to review said user's behavior.

If someone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I have not named the questionable user at this time, assuming this discussion will be moved to my own Talk Page. Thank you.
