not working anymore?[edit]

Hi, suddendly this gadget seems not to be working anymore (for me). I'm using monobook and firefox 29.0.1 (firefox upate was today, but I still has long filenames afterwards for a short time). Now they are gone. Any idea what wrong and how to fix it? --JuTa 19:53, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A crosscheck with IE 7 showed me, that the gadget is working there. So it seems something is incopatible with firefox 29. Could somebody investigate this case please? thx. --JuTa 19:53, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was told this would be bugzilla:5092. Today, all gadgets were missing for me for a short period of time. Bypass your browser's cache and eventually delete your cookies. Then, it should be back. -- Rillke(q?) 20:51, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rillke, thx for the reply. It looks like some parts of the java script code wasn't loader sometimes, I was missing i.e. sometimes the quick delete buttons on file pages. Today it looks much better. So, it looks its nota problem of the gadget, but rather than a performance problem of the mediawiki software and/or my local browser. regards. --JuTa 07:46, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update for phab:T139766[edit]

{{Editprotected}} As I mentioned at phab:T139766#2473538, please:

  1. Remove the reference to 'Long-Image-Names-in-Categories.js' from MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition.
  2. Delete MediaWiki:Gadget-Long-Image-Names-in-Categories.js. [optionally; it may be kept if we want to keep the edit history accessible]
  3. Move this talk page to MediaWiki talk:Gadget-Long-Image-Names-in-Categories.css (and update the link in MediaWiki:Gadget-Long-Image-Names-in-Categories).

This is because the JavaScript file is no longer needed after the MediaWiki changes described in phab:T139766. Only MediaWiki:Gadget-Long-Image-Names-in-Categories.css is required for the gadget to work now. Matma Rex (talk) 17:46, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
