Translation does not appear[edit]

I made a Norwegian translation yesterday at MediaWiki:EnhancedPOTY.js/no.js, but it still does not appear. It seems like the script requests the following url: [1], which is currently just a blank page. Leaving out smaxage=2419200 will return the script: [2]. Is smaxage causing server some server side caching? – Danmichaelo (δ) 10:25, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To purge the server's cache, replace action=raw with action=purge, to purge your client's cache, go to [3] the requested script and use Please purge your browser’s cache. (You only need to do it once.)
Operating
system

I will lower the caching duration for translation so this problem should go away. -- RE rillke questions? 10:29, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Voting button has short memory[edit]

The voting busson's "memory" only lasts for a session. I voted for some categories yesterday and the button turned from "vote" to "remove your vote" when clicked. But today, revisiting the category, my votes are correctly registered but the button shows "vote" even for the pictures/videos I already gave my preference to.--Japs 88 (talk) 22:05, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This depends on your browser's settings. (Sessioncookies/data) As an interim fix, you can restore the memory, clicking the MyPOTY-Link (next to logout) and then Update-Requery next to the vote list. Then reload the page. -- RE rillke questions? 22:17, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Resolved & Fixed. You should get the new version in-between 3h. -- RE rillke questions? 14:10, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

False positive[edit]

Round 1[edit]

In the beta test output of counting tool [4], i found 2 voters who were not eligible but succeeded in voting.

Shall we notify them with messages like Template:2010POTY/Ineligible or Template:2009POTY/registered?--miya (talk) 06:07, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The second one is easy: The user faked the App's edit summary. You can easily detect this by the missing links in the edit-summary. -- RE rillke questions? 08:09, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I tested 8991nirkirO and the App told me that I am ineligible. Possibilities are: A shared computer (or perhaps (ab)using multiple accounts), the user tricked the App intentionally or faked the edit-summary.
Yes, they can be notified, I think.
What do we learn from this?
I will change the App so it is saving the username and add the user's ID to the edit summary.
-- RE rillke questions? 08:44, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There was 1 voter who was not eligible but succeeded in voting as "eligible on frwiki with 76+ edits", in the latest test output of counting tool [5].

Perhaps a shared computer or something. I'll notify them that their votes are ineligible.--miya (talk) 05:05, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I notified these three people using Template:POTY2011/Ineligible.--miya (talk) 05:41, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is some mess at fr.wp. Looks like Sympatico was renamed to Wimmiden on 2012-06-06 09:02, after voting. So, while voting the user was eligible. -- RE rillke questions? 10:38, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Wimmiden is indeed eligible in frwp. Then shall we make Sympatico's vote eligible as an exception?--miya (talk) 17:06, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It would be fair and according to our rules, which didn't prohibit account renaming after voting, if we make an exception here. -- RE rillke questions? 17:58, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Round 2[edit]

Two voters are not counted by script.

These votes don't affect the Final result, though.--miya (talk) 12:10, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are voters who gave more than one vote, e.g. MichaelMaggs (POTY App tried to prevent that but this was not always possible to prevent lowering the performance). This should be detected by the toolserver tool. -- RE rillke questions? 10:19, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I checked them using tables mannually and found 2 doubled votes:MichaelMaggs and Rmashhadi. I think no more doubled votes. See here: Commons talk:Picture of the Year/2011/Results/R2/count and its history. After that I corrected the R2 result pages. --miya (talk) 06:20, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eligibility wrongly denied based on SUL[edit]

When I click on "My POTY" there is a section titled "Eligibility". It says, "Your account is ineligible because it is not attached to SUL." Accordingly, the "Vote" buttons are disabled, and I cannot vote. However, I have indeed a Single User Login. Not only can I login to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commmons with a single account/pwd, I can validate my SUL status in the Special:Preferences page under "Global Account Status: (Manage your global account)". I get the status message "Login unification complete!" on page http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MergeAccount. Note that I started by creating a new account and then merged them. Seems there is a bug. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coastside (talk • contribs) 09:33, 6. Jun. 2012‎ (UTC)

You created your SUL-account 15h ago. But you visited the POTY before. POTY App remembered that you are ineligible. Please simply click on "Check again" in "My POTY". If this should not work, please click on "Remove" in "My POTY" and reload the page. Thank you. -- RE rillke questions? 09:46, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

POTY 2012 finalists - double voting problem[edit]

I voted for the bird picture a while ago, and this morning accidentally clicked 'vote' against the HDR boat picture. According to the voting lists I have now voted twice. This may be a general problem.

Also, the Support System is unavailable. I get a message saying that Mono's login has expired.

--MichaelMaggs (talk) 10:49, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate votings "should" be impossible — strange. Did you use different browsers/browser profiles or computers? And did you (or someone else) used these computers/ browsers to vote in POTY before? The reason: POTY App saves what you have voted for in the browser's storage. Only if you click on check again in My POTY or if the data is lost (session storage), POTY App steps through your contribs to find what you have voted for. This is done to speed-up loading. -- RE rillke questions? 11:33, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Only the last vote (of each single user) will be counted. -- RE rillke questions? 11:44, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Mono does not respond anymore. That's really a pity. Mono created all the links to Toolserver and wanted to push this help system. Feel free to {{Edit request}} changes wherever you find a link to the non-working help system. -- RE rillke questions? 11:33, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
