Edit

editprotected Can the stop icon () be added on the first line? Yung6 14:19, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done MECUtalk 21:09, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please change back to from , as the second one is redundant and most things link to the first. It was also created by a blocked sockpuppet and has had the license changed from my original without permission. I am in the process of cleaning up links on non-protected pages. silsor 19:02, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest

editprotected Is it possible to change administrators (link to enwb) to administrators (the local one)?. Thanks. df. (talk) 14:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, that'd be my fault too :)  — Mike.lifeguard 15:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Mike :) df. (talk) 20:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Woah! Thank You :) Cjhpaz (talk) 04:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion

Editprotected can you expand it to this:

This account or IP address has been blocked from editing
$7 was blocked $4 The reason given is this: $2

Information for blocked users

You can contact $1 or another administrator (list) to contest the block. You cannot use the email this user feature unless a valid email address is specified in your account preferences, has been confirmed, and you are not disallowed from using it while blocked.

Your current IP address is $3 and the block ID is #$5. Please include this in any queries. Blocked users can edit their own user talk page, unless specifically disallowed from doing so. If you are not logged in as a registered user, use the talk page for your IP address. You can add your reason for requesting an unblock here to your user talk page to request unblocking.

If the block reason seems unrelated to you, it is possible you were affected by a software feature known as the autoblock. In that case, contact an administrator and they will do their best to remove the autoblock. Please note that, for technical reasons, removing the autoblock is not always possible. In such cases, you may need to wait 24 hours for the autoblock to expire.

Question: For what reason should this be changed? --The Evil IP address (talk) 20:04, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - I like the text but it needs to be rewriten since admins can remove the autoblock on the IP adres, and I guess we need more consensus for changing something like this. Huib talk 10:13, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Revert the block text.

Can you revert the Block message to revision by Juliancolton ( 17:49, 11 March 2010‎) please.96.5.241.8 15:57, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My edit was in response to a comment by Rd232.[1] The message could be improved, but I'm not sure that Juliancolton's version is better. It would be helpful if you could comment in more detail. Thank you, Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:35, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you revert the Block message to revision by Juliancolton ( 17:49, 11 March 2010‎) Because Wsiegmund's revision (16:58 18 April 2013‎) did not seem helpful so can someone revert the blocked text?96.5.241.8 13:17, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see no need --Steinsplitter (talk) 14:51, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Or you can change the block text to this one , @96.5.241.8: I see no need. --Steinsplitter (talk) 14:00, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Steinsplitter: this user has spammed multiple user talk pages (examples: User talk:Hazard-SJ User talk:Denniss User talk:January). I'm not sure if a check user request would be necessary. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 14:30, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No need?!,But someone will have to expand the block text so that blocked users will see it clearly, instead of that simple block message Wsigmund have made. (18,April 2013) 2600:1007:B11D:DF27:ED45:DAAB:69AB:D8DB 18:01, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Revised block message

Please see the post at User_talk:Wsiegmund#Block_Message_Replacement.[2] --Walter Siegmund (talk) 05:19, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request diff: Not done. No need. --Steinsplitter (talk) 22:13, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect parameters

Edit request @Steinsplitter: Currently, "$6" (the block expiry) appears twice in this notice. The block reason is provided by "$2". This error means that blocked users are not seeing the reason for their block. Could this please be fixed? This, that and the other (talk) 10:06, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:08, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Improved Blockedtext

Your username or IP address has been blocked from editing Commons until $6.

You can still read Commons, but cannot edit, move, upload, or create pages/files.

$7 has been blocked from editing by $1 for the following reason:

$2

You can:

 • add reason to your talk page, unless blocked from doing so.
 • email $1 or another administrator if you added, associated, and confirmed a valid email address in your preferences and you are not blocked from using it while blocked.
 • Contact commons@wikimedia.org to lift the block.

This MediaWiki Interface will broken when you have 2 or more reasons for no permission to edit. (The first box will shown as code)

Since a similar reason interface can be shown in that case, using Mbox may be a good choice.

code

You can change this interface to the code above, has a little visual changes but I believe this can be shown without error.

Also, If you think this is not a good choice, add a empty line at the first. See MediaWiki:Blockedtext/fi, Unlike the English version, this page shown as a different way and first line is not the table, so this is showing well in the interface. LaMagiaaa (talk) 12:35, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
