I imported your message to test.wikipedia.org. As {{Editnotice}} is currently not available at Commons, I used the one from en_wiki, but at test it doesn't look the same. BTW, in the non-English versions, the text being displayed seems to be the one from the interface, not the template. I agree that the current method isn't really perfect. It should really show only the language of the user, but as unregistered users don't have preferences, {{LangSwitch}} doesn't work here. I tried to write some Javascript similar to the sitenotice translation, but it didn't work. In case anyone wants to fix it, here's the source:

  The script I wrote for the translation of the Sitenotice could be used for this. However not like that. The browser native language code does not give the same kind of language code as MediaWiki uses. "navigator.language" gives results like "nl-nl", "fr-Latn-CA", "en-US" but not "nl", "fr" or "en". So these would have to be converted before used in the uselang parameter. A quick Google searches gives a few results, one that might work [1].     - I'm thinking perhaps we should change this back into a language select ({{Mld}}). The JavaScript for that currently also checks the browser language for anonymous users, plus allows choosing/saving a different language as preference for anonymous users (cookies). And without javascript it will fallback to complete list, like it is now. I believe this is a pretty important thing for anonymous users. The list is so big and bulky perhaps even discouriging for beginners. Especially because the edit-area itself isn't even visible in most cases depending on the window size. Use subpages[edit]

{{Editprotected}} Using LangSwitch in interface messages is an aberration... As you're using interface language anyway, the strings should be moved to the language code subpages instead, e.g. MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning/it etc.
