@JoKalliauer: Sorry for the late reply. The background map of the original SVG file I uploaded was a raster image, not a vector image, which does not display correctly in some web browsers. I think there were some problems with the original file because on 31 December 2014 I uploaded a new version of the file with the explanation "upload Inkscape version, since previous version (plain SVG) doesn't render correctly". I looked on the talk page of the English Wikipedia article w:en:Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 but did not see any problem in any old discussions. On 18 January 2015, I uploaded a new version of the file with the explanation "Updated with location of fuselage/blackboxes/tail; change font (previous font, Arial, is not supported by Wikimedia); removed search area, because as search has unfolded, that area is not very relevant (reduce mapclutter)". Also, the PNG version of this file File:QZ8501 flight path.png has a link to this file that says "SVG version, but includes a raster background that doesn't render correctly at small sizes. Use this version for translations, but upload a PNG file to use on Wikipedia." I added template {{Bad SVG}} to this file page (for the SVG file) so people will know the reason for why {{Technically replaced}} is on the page). AHeneen (talk) 20:25, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

{{Technically replaced}} adds Category:Pictures_showing_a_librsvg_bug, which does not fit for this picture, or I can't see anything which does not render correctly (see above), I would use {{Bitmap version available}} and maybe Category:Pictures_formerly_showing_a_librsvg_bug.

@JoKalliauer: I remember that I had many problems with it when I made the files and uploaded them to Commons. I do not remember if I the PNG preview looked bad when I uploaded it on Commons or if other people told me about the problems on English Wikipedia. Not a problem with the background image, but in the images you added above, the map title on the image ("Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501") does not fit in the box...the last number "1" is right of the right side of the box. The next line ("Sources: Flightradar24 & the Aviation Herald") is not centered in the box. If I click the image and go to the file page, the PNG preview on the page File:Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 flight plan.svg displays correctly (centered and inside the box). I will be busy today, so I will finish my search (to find old discussions) in the next few days. AHeneen (talk) 10:03, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Not a problem with the background image, but in the images you added above, the map title on the image ("Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501") does not fit in the box...the last number "1" is right of the right side of the box.

I will fix those problems on my own, also I think this two points are not my fault.
