Closest approach to Earth[edit]

The comets closest approach to Earth will occur on July 23, 2020, 01:14 UT (as per wiki). But this simulations suggests that it occurs in August. @Kkbairi: See the distance from the Earth shown in the bottom of the animation, the minimum distance is 103 million km on July 23, 2020. The comet is above the ecliptic plane (see drop lines), so the nearest point observed in the animation may not be the nearest point between the comet and the Earth.―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 11:41, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
