Closest approach to Earth[edit]
The comets closest approach to Earth will occur on July 23, 2020, 01:14 UT (as per wiki). But this simulations suggests that it occurs in August. Is it mislabeled? or the closest approach information is wrong? Someone resolve this contradiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kkbairi (talk • contribs) 09:55, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Kkbairi: See the distance from the Earth shown in the bottom of the animation, the minimum distance is 103 million km on July 23, 2020. The comet is above the ecliptic plane (see drop lines), so the nearest point observed in the animation may not be the nearest point between the comet and the Earth.―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 11:41, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
