Description
Nederlands: Zuidelijke zijbeuk van de Grote Kerk in Den Haag, met zeventiende-eeuwse figuren.
  • aquarel, zwart krijt, penseel in kleuren, met wit gehoogd, h 507mm × b 390mm.
  • Johannes Bosboom specialiseerde zich in schilderijen en aquarellen van kerkinterieurs. Hij deed dit in navolging van de 17de-eeuwse kunstenaars Emanuel de Witte en Pieter Saenredam. Vaak kleedde Bosboom de figuren zelfs in 17de-eeuwse kostuums, zoals ook op dit werk te zien is. Met het lage gezichtspunt benadrukte de schilder het ritme van de zuilen en de monumentaliteit van het interieur.
