Summary[edit]

Description
English: The depth of the atmosphere increases as air goes downslope on the lee side. As a result, wherever cold and warm air masses collide, it develops an increased proclivity for counterclockwise spin, or vorticity. Westerlies in the United States cause cyclones to form east of big mountain ranges.
