Description
English: Scale ca. 1:3,300,000. LC Civil War Maps (2nd ed.), 47.8 From Tomes, Robert. The war with the South. New York, Virtue & Yorston, 1862-1867. v. 2, between p. 420 and 421. "Entered according to act of Congress A.D. 1863 by Virtue, Yorston & Co." Inset: [Map of Washington, D.C. and vicinity] 7 x 7 cm. General map indicating place names, roads, rivers and major mountain ranges. Troop positions and movements are not depicted. Copy of the map included in the Library of Congress copy of Tomes's The War with the South lacks the subtitle "Constructed and engraved to illustrate 'The war with the South. Description derived from published bibliography. Available also through the Library of Congress web site as raster image.
