4to. XII, 511 pp, (8), plus engraved portrait. Contemp calf. Ex-libris of Migel Martinez. Third edition, enlarged with an account of the progress of the nun's beatification process. Ines was born to a poor family and suffered from epilepsy as a child. At the age of 13 she had a vision of Christ, and rejected a marriage proposal in order to follow her dream of entering a convent – of the Discalced Augustinians in Benigánim. The first edition was published in 1715 and enlarged in 1737. In 1769, Ines was finally proclaimed a 'Servant of God' in the formal process for her eventual beatification, prompting the publication of the present work
