中国有结婚意愿的适婚人群持续萎缩。中国官方的统计显示,2021年中国登记结婚的人数更是“骤降”至36年的低点,为1527.2万人(763.6万对),结婚人数下降导致出生率直线下降。另一方面,2021年公布的十年一次的人口普查结果显示,人口正在迅速老龄化。65岁以上的人口占总人口的13.5%,高于2010年的8.9%。
