Title
USS Argonne
Description
English: (AG-31) At the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard on 11 August 1941 during a refit. The ship is painted in Measure One camouflage and is flying signal flags showing her hull number, G31. The four-piper destroyers (or destroyer minelayer/destroyer minesweeper conversions) in the left background are also in Measure One camouflage, with haze grey masts and funnel tops. Note the boats alongside Argonne: open motor launches at left disembarking enlisted men, and an enclosed officers' motor boat moored to the boat boom amidships. Photograph from the Bureau of Ships Collection in the U.S. National Archives.
