Description

British English: TOURNAI -—Front & roof of the house located 28 quai Notre Dame . Quai Notre-Dame offers a succession of Louis XIV style houses built between 1680 and 1685, during the rectification of the quays. Each one is characterized by an alternation between stone (at the level of the frames of the openings and the bands) and brick (for the sills, overmantels and entablatures) as well as by a very geometric aspect. The horizontality is underlined by bands that run along the entire façade and extend the lintels of the windows. The verticality is accentuated over the entire height of the facade by the window pedestals.
