Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe murder of David Rizzio from the Duke of Buccleuch statue.jpg |
{{en|1=A panel depicting the murder of David Rizzio inside Holyrood Palace in 1566. It is one of four panels showing incidents in the family history of the Scotts of Buccleuch on the statue of the 5th Duke (1806-1884) which stands outside the High Kirk of St. Giles in Edinburgh. Correction 9 March 2016: the panel actually depicts the burning of Catslack Tower in Yarrow by the English in 1548, when Lady Buccleuch (Elizabeth Kerr of Cessford) and her household perished; |
