English:

A dark brown fish facing left on pale tan stone. The spine runs from between the tail fins to the middle of the head, however two-thirds of it's body is below the spine.

The lesser common of two Knightia (freshwater herring) species in Fossil Lake. About 3 million years later in Lake Gosiute, Knightia alta was more common than Knightia eocaena. Specimen is approximately 8 cm long. Catalog number FOBU13444.
