Of the section boxes two have been very neatly car bodies were built by Milnes & Company, of Birken-head, and are 14 ft. long, 24 ft. 6 ins. over platforms, and6 ft. wide. Each car is fitted with two Westinghouse No.46 motors, giving 1000 lbs. tractive effort at 8 miles anhour. The cars are housed in a temporary car shed nearthe Prince Rock terminus, which will hold, in additionto the six motors cars, six trailers. These will be con-verted from the best of the horse cars now in use. The controllers are of the Westinghouse series paralleltype with a graded brake, and perfect control is kept overthe car by putting the two motors in parallel and by con-necting them by a variable resistance, if necessary, to theextent of short circuiting the motors.
