Summary[edit]

Description This wall is one of the ruins of an ancient town that formed part of the Almoravid Dynasty which controlled land all the way up the coast of Western Africa into Southern Spain (Al-Andalus) in the 11th Century. These peoples were Berber. In Europe the word Moors is also used to describe them. This empire was one of a few Islamic rulers of the land in Spain. The dynasty ended when another one (the Almohads) killed their king.
