It is a work about three important women in the history of medicine: Florence Nightingale, Virginia Apgar and Francoise Barré Sinaussi.

Español: El camino de las mujeres en el mundo de la medicina y la investigación no ha sido fácil. Muchas se vieron obligadas a ejercer en la clandestinidad y otras tantas tuvieron vedado el acceso a la preparación académica durante mucho tiempo. Como en otras áreas del ámbito científico, su trabajo ha sido poco o nada reconocido. Sin embargo, esto no fue obstáculo para que muchas de ellas lograran salir adelante y llegaran a desarrollar importantísimas investigaciones.

Según un estudio publicado en 2018 por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística, el número de colegiadas femeninas en España superaba en 2017, por primera vez, al de hombres inscritos en el Colegio Oficial de Médicos. Como es evidente los tiempos han cambiado.

De este modo, durante este documento se expondrán tres casos de mujeres relacionadas con el ámbito de la medicina y la investigación científica que marcaron un antes y un después en su paso por este mundo, ayudando al progreso y la búsqueda por lograr una mejor calidad de vida.
English: The path of women in the world of medicine and research has not been easy. Many were forced to work underground and many others were denied access to academic training for a long time. As in other areas of the scientific field, his work has received little or no recognition. However, this was not an obstacle for many of them to succeed and develop very important investigations.
