Description
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. Strike actions to get automatic indexation for employees. The unions follow a so-called spearhead plan, following a predetermined plan employees at certain companies in the harbour of Rotterdam and Amsterdam down tools. The strike plans of the unions are contested at the court of Utrecht, who orders a cooling-off period in which both parties aren't allowed to take any action, but have to try to make an agreement. At the end of the first week of actions a partial agreement has been made after new negotiations. SHOTS: Amsterdam station square with walking people; trams in the garage; man with an action poster 'Harbour in battle'; several of the Rotterdam harbour; ext. office NVV/NKV and meeting room where the steering committee coordinates the strike actions; demonstration of painters in Hilversum with banners with the text 'We demand' and a demontration in Oss; ext. office of newspaper 'De Tubantia'; int. printing establishment with stationary printing presses; payment of strike money (in cash) to the strikers; ext. court of Utrecht; int. courtroom with judge, lawyers and audience; car (Deux Chevaux) with on the roof of the car 'We will not move'; ext. Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd. Stakingsacties met als inzet automatische prijscompensatie voor werknemers. De vakbonden volgen een zgn. speerpuntenplan, volgens een tevoren opgesteld schema wordt het werk bij bepaalde bedrijven in de havens van Rotterdam en Amsterdam geheel stilgelegd. De stakingsplannen van de Voedingsbonden worden aangevochten voor de Utrechtse rechtbank, die een afkoelingsperiode beveelt waarin beide partijen geen acties mogen ondernemen maar moeten pogen tot overeenstemming te komen. Aan het einde van de eerste actieweek is er na nieuwe onderhandelingen een gedeeltelijke overeenkomst.
