Description
English: Women are not equally empowered in the socioeconomic environment of Bangladesh in all sectors of the country. The reasons could be attributed by the lack of women entrepreneurship development in the society. Supports like stimulatory, supporting and sustaining activities are inadequate for the women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. Study depicts that only 7% of the total business establishments of Bangladesh are headed by the women entrepreneurs. Other reasons for this backwardness of women entrepreneurs are limited social influencing, networking abilities and decision making abilities of the women in the society. Hence, this study aims at identifying the factors related to social empowerment due to women entrepreneurship development. This is a causal research and the study used primary data collected from the women entrepreneurs engaged in Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) businesses.
