Six manuscript maps in ink drawn on note paper, copied from John M. Duncan's 1823 travel book: Travels through part of the United States and Canada in 1818 and 1819, volume 2. They include some information about the size of towns and villlages, distance between towns, the geography of the area with some notes on vegetation

The sketches of maps are are identical to John M Duncan's 1823 book, but there are added labels and annotations
No. 1. Lake Ontario - York: No. 1. annotations about distances from York to Niagara, Kingston, Brandtford; 70 miles to Brandtford has been corrected in pencil to 60 miles; annotations about size and population of York; annotations about size and population of Brandtford
No. 2. Buffalo, Falls of Niagara, Lake Ontario: original label "Chippawa" expanded to "Creek, village & fort Chippawa"; annotations about Buffalo; annotations about width of channel; annotations about size and population of Grand Island; annotations about Queenston Heights
No. 3. Goat Island - Falls of Niagara: annotations about dimensions of British Fall and American Fall; annotations about Goat Island; annotations about Laddder; observations about seeing spray from the Falls from Lake Erie, and about a part of Table Rock that broke off in July or August
No. 4. Kingston: added labels to map: Fort Henry, Wolf Island, Cape St. Vincent, Chaumont, Pillar Point, Grenadier Island, Gallops Island, Stoney Island, Stoney Point, Naples; detailed annotations about navigating the river at this point of the journey
