Este sello se encuentra en el reverso de un retrato fotográfico positivado en "papel leptográfico", un invento del propio fotógrafo José Martínez Sánchez, en colaboración con J. Laurent (el más famoso fotógrafo con estudio en Madrid, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX). Martínez Sánchez murió en 1874. Y Laurent murió en 1886. Ambos fotógrafos trabajaron asociados entre los años 1866 y 1868
