English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. On the occasion of the thirty years existence of Schiphol airport, atmospheric images of Schiphol Airport, now and then, mixed with footage of a celebration with a speech by Schiphol director J. Dellaert and the unveiling of a bust of KLM director A. Plesman. 00:01 ARCHIVE MATERIAL: aerial shots of Schiphol Airport; Fokker airplanes with one, two and three engines land or taxi; ground crew at work on the platform: get an airplane to stop or start their engines; at a pre-war aviation day a large fleet of airplanes are parked side by side on the platform; 00:30 CURRENT SHOTS: aerial shots of Schiphol Airport; flying shots of a Convair and a Skymaster; start of a Beoing Stratocruiser, airplanes on the platform standing still or taxiing, people walk by, an airplane is manoeuvred backwards with a small tractor; passengers exit an airplane; ext. and int. air traffic control tower; air traffic controller behind a microphone; maintenance and work on the airplanes in the hangars; luggage and mail is transported, loaded or dealt with otherwise; passengers pass immigrations in the departures hall; 01:34 CELEBRATION: - Schiphol director Dellaert delivers a speech from behind a lectern; - unveiling (in the open air) in front of a small crowd of interested people; Plesman himself looks at his own portrayal with interest; 02:08 CURRENT SHOTS: - start of a DC-3 Dakota; a Constellation taxis by, another Constellation starts; aerial shots of Schiphol Airport; - Logo of Schiphol Airport and the flag of the city of Amsterdam.
