Notes
  • Significance: Structure I consists of a sewer manhole. The structure is atop a long, linear, west to east trending ridge forming the south side of Horse Thief Draw. The manhole is located approximately 1.25 miles northwest of Superior and is also located near the western edge of the old Superior townsite. The structure consists of a sewer manhole. The manhole is a vertical shaft lined with bricks and capped with a concrete ring which originally held a wooden manhole cover. The diameter of the concrete ring is 2 feet 11 inches and the diameter of the manhole is 2 feet 4 inches. The depth of the manhole to fill is 6 feet 7 inches. The shaft is lined with bricks with the shaft diameter expanding from 2 feet 4 inches to 2 feet 11 inches approximately 1 foot 9 inches below present ground surface. A large terra cotta pipe enters the shaft from the southwest and terminates. This was the only feature noted in the manhole shaft.
