Summary[edit]

Description
English: A thin-section slide of the Rynian (Rynie) Chert containing fossils of the earliest land plants, Rhynia gwynne-vaughanii. The thin-section has been prepared as a transverse section of the stems. The material was collected from "Old Red Sandstone" in Rynie, Aberdeen, Scotland. From the Manchester Museum collection, images acquired by the Geography Laboratories at the University of Manchester, 2020.
