Nederlands: Ivm de ontslagaanvraag van de socialistische ministers ontvangt koningin Juliana in Paleis Huis ten Bosch oa prof. Pieter Oud, VVD-fractieleider in de Tweede Kamer, A.D.W. Tilanus van de CHU, Paul de Groot van de officiële communistische fractie en Henk Gortzak, vertegenwoordiger van de communistische dissidenten. Enkele dagen later komt de Tweede Kamer in vergadering bijeen voor de afhandeling van urgente belastingvoorstellen. Voorzitter G.P. Kortenhorst noemt de binnengekomen stukken op, waarna ze met stemming, ondanks protest van PvdA-fractieleider Jaap Burger, worden aangenomen. Nav deze stemming en de afwezigheid van minister H.J. Hofstra van Financiën verlaten de socialisten uit protest de kamer. Door het ontbreken van de vereiste meerderheid wordt de vergadering geschorst. Na de vergadering vergaderen PvdA-leden in een kamer, oa de demissionaire ministers J.G. Suurhoff, Hofstra en Ivo Samkalden, demissionair premier dr. Willem Drees, de demissionaire staatssecretarissen M. van Veen en dr. A.A. van Rhijn, Burger en partijvoorzitter E.A. Vermeer. Elders vergaderen de KVP-leden, met oa fractieleider prof. C.P.M. Romme, Kortenhorst, partijvoorzitter mr. H.W. van Doorn en oud-minister Ch. Welter. Verder prof. L.J.M. Beel, minister van Staat, die door Juliana als informateur is aangewezen.
English: Due to the resignation of the socialist ministers, Queen Juliana invites several politicians to the Palace Huis, including Prof. Pieter Oud, VVD party leader in parliament, ADW Tilanus the CHU, Paul de Groot of the official Communist Group and Henk Gortzak, representing the Communist dissidents. A few days later the Cabinet is in session to handle urgent tax proposals. Chairman G.P. Kortenhorst incoming calls the proposals, after which they vote. Despite protests from Labour Party leader Jaap Burger, the proposals are adopted. As a result of this vote and the absence of Minister HJ Hofstra of Finance, the Socialists left the room in protest. Due to the lack of the required majority, the meeting was suspended. After the meeting, Labour members gather in a room, including the outgoing ministers JG Suurhoff, Hofstra and Ivo Samkalden, outgoing Prime Minister Dr. Willem Drees, the outgoing state secretary M. van Veen and Dr. A.A. van Rhijn, Citizen and party chairman and others Vermeer. Elsewhere meet the CSF members, among others Prof. CPM leader Romme, Kortenhorst, party president Mr H.W. van Doorn and former Minister Ch. Welter. Furthermore, Prof. L.J.M. Beel, Minister of State, by Juliana informer indicated.
