Português: Os 60 anos do suicídio do ex-presidente Getúlio Vargas são o tema da seção Arquivo S do Jornal do Senado, publicada nesta segunda-feira. Em entrevista ao repórter Ricardo Westin, o senador Pedro Simon relembra os acontecimentos que chocaram o país no dia 24 de agosto de 1954 e discorda dos que acreditam que suicidas não vão para o céu. Segundo Simon, o suicídio foi um ato de heroísmo. Para o jornalista Lira Neto, autor da trilogia biográfica Getúlio, a ideia do “sacrifício” já aparecia nas anotações de Vargas desde 1930. De acordo com o historiador Antonio Barbosa, o gesto de Getúlio adiou em 10 anos o golpe militar. Veja os depoimentos. |
