English: Renewing India' is a film on the success stories of alternative and renewable energy projects that were carried out in different parts of India. Featured are micro hydro-power projects from Uttarakhand, solar power plants in Sunderbans, biomass gasifiers in Sunderbans, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat, and windmills in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Spanning over three decades, India's renewable energy programme has travelled a long way and has been a catalyst of change for many villages in rural India that have been living without any modern facilities such as electricity or water. Renewable sources of energy have been a success in every sphere- in terms of technology, markets and innovations and today small and big businesses are discovering the economic viability and pro-environment nature of these energy sources |
