Espero que os guste. == COMPENDIO DE QUÍMICA PARTE PRIMERA: QUÍMICA FILOSÓFICA CAPÍTULO PRIMERO NOCIONES PRELIMINARES == Materia, cuerpo e ideas generales acerca de su constitución y naturaleza.-No siendo posible en rigor dar una definición exacta de lo que debe entenderse por materia, sino por los efectos que en nosotros produzca, podemos definirla diciendo: es todo cuanto puede afectar a cualquiera de nuestros sentidos y se halla dotado de peso; es decir impresionando siempre al tacto. Llamamos cuerpo a la porción de materia limitada. Los cuerpos no se consideran constituidos como un todo de materia continua, sino que están formados por una agrupación de partes sumamente pequeñísimas llamadas moléculas, separadas entre s por espacios vacíos (poros) y unidas por una fuerza física que recibe el nombre cohesión Si nos fijamos en la naturaleza de las moléculas, nos encontramos que estas a su vez existen compuestas por entidades menores é indivisibles tanto por los medios físicos como por los químicos y que se han denominado átomos, y a los que se les supone ser por algunos químicos el éter condensado. Por mucho tiempo admitieron los filósofos la materia única, y que por el modo de obrar sobre ella las fuerzas, variaban los caracteres de los cuerpos, mas hoy día se acepta la existencia de ciertos elementos distintos entre sí, y que ya aislados ó unidos en diverso número , constituyen todos los que han de ser objeto de nuestro estudio.
