Pipe organ in Chalmers-Wesley United Church of Canada in Quebec City

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The first organ in Chalmers-Wesley United Church of Quebec City was built in 1890 by the Warren Company of Woodstock, Ontario. In 1912, Casavant Frères, from Saint-Hyacinthe, rebuilt and enlarged the instrument, as Opus 506, incorporating the pipework and the façade from the original instrument. From 1982 to 1985, the Guilbault-Thérien organ-building firm, also from Saint-Hyacinthe, undertook restoration works divided into three stages. The United Church, the largest Protestant church in Canada, was formed by the union of the Congregationalist, Methodist and Presbyterian churches in 1925.
