  • Title from item.
  • Inscribed in pencil on verso: Copy after engraving by Paul Revere, published in "Entertaining history of King Philip's war," by Thomas Church, Newport, 1772.
  • This print is a variant copy of the Revere engraving published in: "The entertaining history of King Philip's war, which began in the month of June, 1675 ... with some account of the divine providence towards Col. Benjamin Church" / by Thomas Church, esq. his son. 2nd edition. Newport, Rhode Island : Reprinted and sold by Solomon Southwick, 1772.
  • The most noticeable difference between the Revere engraving of 1772 and this print is in the design of the clouds and the extended foreground at the feet of Philip.
