Description
English: "St. Charles Street from Canal, New Orleans, LA." Photo looking upriver on the 100 and 200 blocks of St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans Central Business District, circa 1910.

Various commercial buildings are seen on both sides of street of the closer block, including shops, a pharmacy, hotels, and restaurants. Visible signs include "Peter Fabacher & Bros Restaurant", "Furnished Rooms", "Fox the Hatter", "Kolb", "Traverse Diamond Setting Up Stairs", "Spencer Business College Day and Night", "C.J. Michel Co", "Pressing", "Curio Store", "Strafford Hats"; multiple signs for "Cumberland Telephone Telegraph Company, Local and Long Distance Telephone Pay Station".

At right an automobile parked by the curb has a sign reading "For Hire by Hour or Trip". At left a street clock shows the time as 8:00.

At corner of Common Street a streetcar and an other automobile are seen. In the next block is the St. Charles Hotel.
