Summary[edit]
DescriptionOpposing the Privatization of the US Postal Service.ogv |
English: Guest Jamie Partridge, a member of Portland Communities and Postal Workers United and a retired postal worker himself, discusses the efforts of the upper echelons of the US Postal Service to privatize the service and the efforts of communities impacted by such efforts united with postal officers to prevent that from happening. He describes the congressional mandate for the service to pre-fund pensions for 75 years, the efforts to end Saturday delivery, the cuts to facilities, and now the outsourcing of traditional postal service to minimum wage Staples workers, and calls for a boycott of Staples. |
