Nederlands: De regering stelt wijzigingen in de Grondwet voor ivm de nieuwe verhoudingen met Indonesië en de West. Deze wijzigingen zijn in de volksvertegenwoordiging reeds aanvaard. Volgens wettelijk voorschrift worden nu de kamers ontbonden en moeten er verkiezingen plaatsvinden voor een nieuw parlement. Op 7 juli 1948 zullen deze verkiezingen worden gehouden. In dit journaal wordt een beeld opgeroepen van de sfeer in Nederland vlak vóór deze verkiezingen. English: The Government is proposing amendments to the Constitution concerning the new relations with Indonesia and the West. These changes in the national assembly have already been adopted.
