Description
Deutsch: Blick über die Poststrasse auf die neuzeitlichen Ruinenreste der ehemaligen Pfarrkirche St. Jakobus in Widnau, Schweizer Kanton St. Gallen. Die originalen Stufen an der Poststrasse markieren den ehemaligen Zugang zum Haupteingang an der Westfassade ins Langhaus. Die Kirche wurde 1999 bis auf die Grundmauern und Reste des Turms und der Chorwand abgerissen und die Parzelle zu einem Ort der Erinnerung und Ruhe gestaltet.
English: View across Poststrasse to the modern ruins of the former parish church of St. James in Widnau, Swiss Canton St. Gallen. The original steps on Poststrasse mark the former access to the main entrance in the west façade into the nave. The church was demolished in 1999 down to the foundation walls and remains of the tower and the choir wall, and the plot was made into a place of remembrance and tranquillity.
Italiano: Vista attraverso la Poststrasse sulle moderne rovine dell'antica chiesa parrocchiale di San Giacomo a Widnau, nel cantone svizzero di San Gallo. I gradini originali sulla Poststrasse segnano l'antico accesso all'entrata principale della facciata occidentale nella navata.
